This landmark restaurant, established in 1764, is a blend of our colonial heritage and present day expectations. Inspired cuisine featuring Filet Mignon, seafood and vegetarian dishes is complimented by our continental wine list. Lunch or dinner in our Restaurant is an enjoyable experience.
On August 19th 2009, our new chef, Mark Blevins, started at the General Sutter Inn. In fact, it would be more accurate to state that Mark came back to the Inn as he had worked there a number of years ago in the early years of the former owner's tenure. At that time Mark worked with the former Chef, John Davenport, and when John decided to move to Bent Creek as Banquet Chef, Mark followed as his assistant.
After a number of years Mark decided to move to Philadelphia and worked at the extremely successful Steven Starr restaurant, Continental Midtown. Mark then went on to assist the opening of the Rittenhouse Square restaurant, Tavern 17. We are glad to say that after about six years in Philly, Mark decided to move back to the Lancaster area and take the position of Executive Chef at the General Sutter Inn. He is very excited to be back at the Sutter and is looking forward to creating new menu items sourcing food locally and seasonally.
